If you want to send and receive money or pay for goods and services online without sharing your card account details, PayPal may be the answer!
Why should I use PayPal?
There are many reasons why people use a digital wallet like PayPal to move and spend their money.
Privacy
If you have a small business, or want to pay others without them knowing your personal information such as your account number and sort code, you can send and receive payments through a link or email address.
Buyer protection
PayPal offers a dispute service that many financial institutions do not. If you pay for goods or services that turn out to be fraudulent, PayPal’s Buyer Protection may be able to issue a refund or get your money back from the person you sent it to.
Which prepaid cards work with PayPal?
As long as you have a card or account from Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Maestro, Diners Club or Union Pay, you can link it to a PayPal account.
Your Vox Money card is powered by Visa, so you can connect it to PayPal.
How to connect a card or account to PayPal
If you want to connect an account to move money from a prepaid card to PayPal or pay for goods and services, here’s how you set it up.
- Log in to your PayPal account and click on ‘Wallet’.
- Click on ‘Link a card’.
- Fill in the form fields including your billing address – this is the address that is linked to your Vox Money account.
- Click ‘Add card’.
Keeping your money safe
If you are paying for goods and services through PayPal, make sure you know the person or business you are paying is legitimate.
Paying for goods and services
Unless you’re making a personal payment to friends and family, always use the ‘goods and services’ option when paying someone you don’t know personally – even if they tell you otherwise. Paying with this option means that you have Buyer Protection so you can dispute it and possibly receive a refund if you don’t receive what you paid for.
Being wary of scammers
PayPal scams are quite common, especially through email or text message. One thing you can do is never click a link in an email about unverified logins or payments. Always go to the PayPal account yourself to log in and check.
